Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons fat (e.g., margarine or butter)
- ¼ cup molasses
- 1 egg
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup sour milk
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon ginger
Steps
- Mix the soda and molasses in a mixing bowl.
- Add the remaining ingredients and combine well.
- Bake in muffin pans for 20 minutes or in a loaf pan for 40 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and cool on a wire cake rack.
